Chris "Kidd" Carter is now a 10 year veteran of K92, on air 10am-2pm directly after the K92 Mornin' Thang Monday through Friday. He is also K92's Promotions Director and is in charge of K92's prize inventory and director of all K92 live appearances and events. He was nicknamed Kidd by his former boss after being harassed by co-workers about his baby face.
Kidd is born and raised in Roanoke and graduated from Patrick Henry High in 1996. 2 months after graduating, he got his first job in radio and worked his way up from board operator for football games to host of the night show. After taking a job in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 2001, he moved back to Roanoke in 2003 working weekend airshifts on K92 until he was offered the full time middays position along with Director of Promotions in August of 2004.
When he's not on the air, he's likely with his wife Ashley and his daughter Brooke or on a pool table somewhere as Kidd is the Captain of a 9 ball and an 8 ball team in the APA playing out of Awful Arthur's downtown. He's a big fan of Virginia Tech football and an even bigger fan of NFL football and the Atlanta Falcons. Due to his favorite teams, we usually have to give him a hug on Monday mornings after they lose.
In 2010, Kidd and his wife founded Star City Comedy, bringing in stand up comedians for comedy shows. Kidd also owns Blue Ridge Entertainment, a local mobile DJ company. Kidd and his partner DJ's frequently DJ and hosts weddings and other events all year round.
